About Me

Who am I?
I am a Christian. All else stems from here. I am committed to the application of a Christian worldview to the issues of Sport and Society. I have a remarkable wife and two equally remarkable children.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage" - Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

Why do I blog?
I have begun blogging as a means to an end. I am hoping to complete a part-time Master’s degree in the Sociology of Sport in the next couple of years. This blog is my attempt to re-engage both with Sociology and the writing process.

“There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them.” - George Orwell

Where do I stand?
I am committed to the truth of the Holy Bible. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. He died for me. He lives for me. The least I can do is be grateful to Him.

I am conservative in my political views and partial to both Liverpool Football Club and the music of Bob Dylan.

“I have tried to be objective. I do not claim to be detached” – C Wright Mills

What do I do for a living?
I teach Sport and Physical Education at a College in the West Midlands.
